Obituary of Leroy Stuart Alley

Leroy Stuart Alley, 86 of Greensboro, NC passed away early Thursday morning, January 25, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held Saturday January 27, 11 am at Sharpe Road Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Leroy was born September 15, 1931 in Rockingham County NC to the late Robert and Minnie Lester Alley. He served his country in the U.S. Army and then worked for 45 years at Sears & Roebuck. Leroy did mostly for others before doing for himself. He loved his family, and loved " pickin and grinin", playing music with friends and family, and enjoyed bluegrass music. Surviving are his wife of almost 67 years Frances Robertson Alley, son Michael Alley and wife Denise of Liberty, NC, grandchildren Christina Stanley and husband Patrick of Randleman, NC, Kevin Alley and wife Brandy of Asheboro, NC, great grandchildren Tanner Stanley, Cheyenne Stanley, Nathon Humble, Jakob Stanley, Tucker Alley and Silas Mack Alley, brothers Robert Alley of Greensboro, J.C. Alley of Trinity, NC, Herbert Alley and wife Shirley of Greensboro and sister Louise Case of Greensboro, along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death along with his parents by a sister Maurine Alley. The visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at Sharpe Road Baptist Church.
