Obituary of Darrell Ray Hinshaw

Darrell Ray Hinshaw, 83, of Summerfield, NC passed away at his home on March 9, 2018. Darrell was born in Asheboro, NC, the youngest of five children, to the late Clark Hinshaw, Sr. and Ina Belle Crawford Hinshaw. Darrell grew up in the Proximity Mill village in Greensboro and often shared fond memories of those years. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Darrell was soft spoken but strong in his love and support for his family. He enjoyed yard sales and a good auction, loved golf and as his health declined became an avid golf ball hunter and tournament watcher. He retired from Amp, Inc. and also worked many years as a land surveyor. Darrell is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Denise Price and husband, Bobby; and grandson, Spencer Ray Price, who was his pride and joy. He was predeceased by his wife, Brenda Frye Hinshaw, siblings and parents. Family will receive friends at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home on Friday, March 16, 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. Anyone attending the graveside will need to enter the cemetery at the Old Battleground Road entrance near Southern Foods, due to the Guilford Battleground reenactment scheduled for Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. To access the cemetery, traffic must enter off Battleground 220 at Westridge Road and proceed onto Old Battleground at Cobb Animal Clinic. Continue towards Southern Foods and enter entrance to cemetery at Jaycee Park Rd. We will have funeral director at entrance for guidance. Directions will be provided at visitation.
