Obituary of Carol Oakley Durham

Carol Oakley Durham, 80, of Greensboro, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Wesley Long Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Lambeth Troxler Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Pearman and Allen Oakley officiating. She was born in Greensboro on July 8, 1936 to James Percy Oakley and Edith Maness Oakley. She was a day care provider (Durham's Day Care) for 50 years. She touched many lives over the years. She helped many young struggling families with dependable and loving child care. Most of all she enjoyed good times with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Emery Lee Durham, Jr. and parents Percy and Edith Oakley; and brother James (Jimmy) Oakley. She is survived by her son Emery (Buddy) Durham lll. (Diane) of Greensboro, daughters Melissa Hardy (Doug) of Greensboro, Lisa Fuller of Thomasville. Grandchildren Jessica Thomas, Mandy Durham, Douglas Hardy, Mackenzie Fuller, Alex Clinard; great grandchildren, Tessa Hardy, Maria and Brenna Ramirez; sisters, Judy Murphy, Linda Wilson (Mike) of Greensboro. The family will receive family and friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Lambeth Troxler and at other times the home 4719 Holders Rd. Greensboro.
