Obituary of Ruby Roberts Lewis

Ruby Roberts Lewis, on May 30, 2017, the angels came to take Miss Ruby home at the age of 93. There will be a funeral service in the chapel of Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, 11:00 am Thursday with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Ray Lewis, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Ruby was born in North Wilkesboro, NC on March 9th, 1924 to the late Branson Henry Roberts and Emerzett Shatley Roberts. She worked for Cone Mills for over 40 years. Miss Ruby loved her Lebanon Baptist Church and her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Cleveland Lewis; her son, Bobby Ray Lewis, Sr.; nine brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her son, Larry Lewis and wife Becky of Greensboro; daughters, Diane Ziglar of Oak Ridge, NC, Cathy Bittner and husband Robert of Beaufort, NC; sister, Bonnie Shaver of Greensboro; brother, James Roberts of Greensboro. Miss Ruby had seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great great grandchild along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend a special "thank you" to Brookdale Assisted Living, Lawndale Drive, Greensboro and also the doctors and nurses at Moses Cone Hospital.
