Obituary of Matthew Joel Lunsford

Matthew Joel Lunsford, 32, passed away on July 26, 2018 at his home in McLeansville, North Carolina. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 31 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral & Cremation Services following a visitation from 10:00-11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Lisa and Donald Taylor.

Matt was born on April 12, 1986 to Clarence and Annette Lunsford in Guilford County, North Carolina. He graduated from Northeast Guilford High School in 2004 and later went on to serve in the United States Army as a U.S. Airborne Ranger, and Army Sniper; Matt served two tours in Iraq. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his family; especially his little angel Aubri Lunsford.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Aubri Lunsford, brother, Ryan Lunsford and wife Britnee, maternal grandmother, Peggy McCandless (Maw), Brother-in-Arms, Tristan Brown, in addition to other Brother’s-in-Arm’s/Sniper Unit, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Matthew was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ed and Lula Lunsford, maternal grandfather, Howard McCandless (Paw), infant sister, Ashley Lunsford.
