Obituary of Shirley Branch Wagoner

Shirley Branch Wagoner, 78, passed away December 26, 2018. 

Graveside funeral services celebrating her life will be 3:00PM Saturday December 29, 2018 at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitors are asked to come to the back section of Lakeview, behind the Mausoleum.

Shirley was born January 10, 1940 in Rockingham County to the late Mary Elizabeth Dixon and Elmer Vance Branch. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her ex-husband, Duke Windsor Wagoner, Sr. and her daughter, Kimberly Kay Tanner.

Survivors include her son, Duke Windsor Wagoner, Jr.; grandsons, Jeremy Wagoner and wife Julie and Marshall Bullard and wife Allison; granddaughter, Brittany King and husband Michael; four great-grandchildren and a brother, James Branch and wife Mary.

Shirley was a Girl Scout leader for many years.  She loved taking care of children and many came to know her as “Nanny”. She enjoyed cooking, and loved making special recipes for her family.
