Obituary of Joseph D. Lay

Joseph D. Lay, 87, passed away unexpectedly on Monday February 18, 2019.

A private burial will be held by the family at Westminster Gardens Cemetery in Greensboro.

A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Joseph was the husband of Betty M. Lay and the son of Alice Williams and Conaway Lay, both deceased. He served honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean War.  Joseph retired from Cone Mills in Greensboro after 25 years of service.

In addition to his wife, Betty, Joseph is survived by his two children; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to a charity of donor’s choice.
