My Deepest sympathy to all of Chris’ family. He was a true friend and brother. Chris was the first person I met at Western Carolina and we became friends from the very start. We ran track together, fraternity brothers, we worked together and in later years reconnected and have been close since. Bill, Michelle, Barbara, and Qin, I love you all and express my sorrow to you and Chris’ children and stepchildren.
Always Brother!

My deepest condolences to Chris's wife, family and loved ones. I knew Chris in college. He was a sensitive, creative and passionate young man who dreamed big, knew how to laugh, have fun and had such a welcoming presence. My heart is deeply saddened.

Heart Broken just finding this out. Chris had a heart bigger than outdoors. I have so many fond memories that Chris and I had over the years, a true friend he was and never a dull moment. God just got a wonderful angel. QRYHR

Chris was my late husband Mike's best friend in high school, was the best man at our wedding in 1977 in Birmingham, AL, and joined us in the spring of 2011 here in the mountains outside Burnsville NC to memorialize Mike's death. I had not heard directly from Chris since 2011 and was saddened to hear of his illness and death. My sincere condolences go to his family, and I would like to be notified if and when a memorial service is planned, as I will certainly make the trip to be there..
