Obituary of Aretta Harder Farmer

Aretta Farmer, 95, went home to be with her Lord December 2, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 1:00PM Thursday December 5, 2019 at Rankin Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Scronce officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church.

A lifelong resident of Guilford County, Aretta was the daughter of the late Maude Elizabeth Murray Harder and Joseph Hubert Harder. She was retired from the former Southern Webbing Company. She was a longtime faithful member of Rankin Baptist Church, where she had so many wonderful memories and friends.

In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband Harvey James Farmer; a son who passed at one day old, and a son, John Roger Koontz; and brothers Johnny Harder and Deck Harder.

Survivors include her daughter Audrey Dale McCanless and James Payne; grandchildren, Tracey Waddell and Rodney, Chris Koontz, and Vivian Eckstein and Michael; great-grandchildren, Shelbey Waddell, Audrey Waddell, and Pamela Rose Eckstein; her longtime friend, and travel companion, Joyce Overley; and numerous extended family and friends.
