Obituary of Albert Ratliff

Albert Ratliff, 80, received his heavenly wings on January 3, 2021.

A time of celebration of his life will be held privately with his family.  At a later date the family is planning a Graveside Service East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton, New Jersey.

He was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina in Anson County and he lived most of his life in Paterson, New Jersey where he and Alzona Coe Ratliff met and were married in 1988. Albert was the son of the late Sallie Moore Ratliff and John Ratliff. He was retired from William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey.  After retiring he and Alzona moved to Greensboro, North Carolina in 2009.

In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his sisters, Mae Dunlap, Margie Carmichael, Louise Barnes, and Gladys Oliver; brothers, John Ratliff Jr., James Ratliff, Thomas Ratliff, and Bobby Gean Ratliff.

Survivors include his loving wife, Alzona Ratliff of the home; daughters, Phyllis Ratliff of Stratford, CT, Theresa Ratliff of Paterson, NJ, and Kenna Wimberly and Taurin of Paterson, NJ; sons, Anthony Albert Ratliff of Greensboro, NC, and Jermaine Coe of Greensboro, NC; fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; mother-in-law, Evangelist Dorothy McBride of Sumter, SC; sisters, Shelby McCoy of Danville, VA, and Dorothy Marshall of Harrisburg, PA; brother, Rufus Ratliff and Sandra of Paterson, NJ; sister-in-law, Mazone Everett of Sumter, SC; brother-in-law, Elder Johnnie Coe and Joann of Florence, SC, and Otis Coe Jr of Paterson, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
