Vanda Smith Viehman, 79, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Rick Carter officiating.

A native of Kernersville, NC, Vanda was the daughter of the late, William Irving Smith and Stella Mae Motsinger Smith. Vanda retired from Smith Barney, Inc. She was a long-time member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Kernersville, NC where she completed a 5 year Disciple Study. Vanda had a heart for volunteering through many organizations such as the Special Olympics, Brenner Hospital Special Events, Hospice Special Events, and also serving on the Board of Directors of the NC Specialty Hospitals for over eight years. She was a member of the Old Salem Sertoma Club. Vanda loved traveling, including a trip to the Holy Land, which was her lifetime dream. All of Vanda’s friends will remember her for her love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, JoJo and Scottie. Vanda, of many things, was an avid Duke Basketball fan.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Ivey S. Smith of Kernersville, NC, and Lisbeth Smith of Lake Tahoe, CA; nephews, Ricky Smith and wife, Patsy of Kernersville, NC, Robbie Smith and wife, Betty of Lewisville, NC, Christopher Smith and Nicholas Smith of Los Angeles, CA.

In addition to her parents, Vanda was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and David Masten; and two brothers, Ted I. Smith, and Phillip J. Smith.
