Obituary of Shirley Feidner Fox

Surrounded by family that loved her, Shirley Feidner Fox, 85, closed her eyes on earth and opened them in Heaven on February 18, 2021.  She was a remarkable woman…loved by all who knew her, never met a stranger, and left most with a hug.

Shirley was God’s faithful servant, leading many to the Lord including “her kids” she taught in Sunday School at Main Street United Methodist Church for many years.  She was a long-time member at First Christian Church in Kernersville, NC.

Shirley was always kind and even on her hardest days had a smile and a joke.  She lit up every room with her quick wit and made everyone feel special.  She enjoyed music and loved watching videos of Tom Jones, Neil Diamond, and Elvis, but even liked rocking with Queen and Prince.  She was still 25 at heart!  Growing up she was a talented little star...excelling in dance and ballet, figure roller skating and was head majorette at Austin High School in El Paso, TX.  She worked in the finance and insurance fields before retiring to raise her children who adored her.
God welcomed her Home for a glorious reunion with her husband, John W. Fox, parents Theodore and Georgia Feidner, sisters Ruth (William) Shaver,  Betty (Don) Burman, Dorothy “Dot” (John) Gayda, Clara Jo “Peggy” (John) Massey, brothers Theodore “Bud” Feidner, Jr. and Vernon “Bobby” Feidner.  Left to cherish her memory are her children Todd Fox (Connie), Tammy Tuttle (Scott), grandchildren Leslie Hunt (Brad), Katie and Josh Fox, and great grandchildren Faith, Aubrey and Adeline Hunt.  Also, many extended family and friends who are devastated to say goodbye to a woman who impacted them in so many ways.

 
The family will be accepting visitors at Pierce Jefferson Funeral Home, 213 W. Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC 27284 on Sunday, February 21 at 3:30.  Followed by a celebration of life at 4:00.  For those unable to attend, her service will be streamed live with the link provided at www.pierce-jeffersonfuneralservice.com.  A private burial service will be held on Monday at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
