Obituary of Mary Lou Alley Smith

Mary Lou Alley Smith, 88, of Walkertown, NC passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 21, 2021.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Monday, April 26, 2021 at Gardens of Memory Walkertown with Rev. Phil Bauguess officiating.

A native of Oak Ridge, NC, Mary was the wife of the late Henry David Smith, Sr. and the daughter of the late Ernest Alley and Ruth Ella King Alley. She attended Gospel Light Baptist Church for many years while her health allowed. Mary was a loving wife and mother, and will be missed by all that knew her.

Survivors include her son, Henry David Smith, Jr. of Kernersville, NC; granddaughter, Christina Vertefeuille and husband, Scott of Walkertown, NC; great grandson, Justin David Vertefeuille; and sister, Josephine Straughn and husband, Bob of Greensboro, NC.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert Alley, Roland Alley, and Chester Alley.
