Obituary of Tom Callahan

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Philip Callahan, age 66, who left us peacefully and unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 2nd in Greensboro, NC. Tom was born in New Britain, CT on September 30, 1954.

Tom’s greatest joy was his family. He had the kindest heart and never met a stranger. Tom was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He cherished being a Papa and had a love for animals.

Tom was an all-around great athlete in every sport he played, but it was his love of basketball that shined. He played basketball for and was a graduate of Baylor University. He continued his love of the sport by coaching at the local YMCA.

Tom was survived in death by his beloved wife Rose Mary Callahan, and his many family members including brother, stepdaughters, grandchildren, brother and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister, and his beloved grandson Justin, who all welcomed him home to God’s wonderful kingdom. A private celebration of his life will be held in St. Louis, MO.

He was loved so much and will be missed dearly by family and friends.
