Obituary of Rev. Henry Albert "H. A." Lewis

Rev. Henry Albert “H. A.” Lewis, 83, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully Monday, June28, 2021.

A native of Asheboro, NC, H. A. was the husband of 60 years to Becky Story Lewis and the son of the late Albert Henry Lewis and Marjorie Craven Lewis. H. A. pastored in Denton, NC, Fort Myers, FL, Greenville, NC, Eden, NC, and Kernersville, NC over a span of 60 years. He was a true man of God who was gentle and humble.

Survivors include his wife, Becky of the home; children, Barry Lewis and wife, Lou Ann O. Lewis of Pinehurst, NC, Randy Lewis and wife, Laurie Lewis of Gastonia, NC, and Melodee Lewis and husband, Alex Schendell of Davidson, NC; grandchildren, Seth Lewis, Sarah Lewis, Neal Lewis, Kyle Lewis, Cameron Lewis, and Julia Schendell; and sister, Martha Lassiter and husband, Donnie Lassiter of Asheboro, NC.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church with Rev. Randy Lewis and Rev. Phil Kirkman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Gur Cemetery, Kernersville, NC. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the church.
