Obituary of Floyd Thomas Cook Sr.
Floyd Thomas Cook Sr., 71, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.
Floyd was born September 15, 1949 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He was the son of the late William Cook and the late Mary (Bray) Cook. He married the love of his life, Rita Cook, and together shared 50 years of their lives in marital bliss. Floyd spent many years as a landscaper with the impeccable talent for trimming shrubs as the shapes of various animals. He also had the gift to create and build whatever his heart desired, his most common woodworking creations being his numerous birdhouses. Floyd loved the mountains and driving through the winding roads with his loving family. He meant the world to all those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his son, James Everitt Cook, and his grandson, Wesley Osborn.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Rita; sons, Floyd Thomas Cook, Jr. and Justin Martin Cook; sister, Frances Sells (and her husband Mike); brothers, Riley Cook and Lee Cook (and his wife Nancy); his granddaughter, Victoria Osborn; and his many cherished nieces and nephews.
