Obituary of Barbara Anders Hill

Barbara Anders Hill, 84, of Kernersville, formerly of Belews Creek, NC, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center.

Born, May 4, 1937, in Galax, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Freddie Young Anders and the late Phoebe Lyons Anders. Barbara was a loving wife and mother, and dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker, she raised four children of which she was very proud. Barbara was a very hard worker, and while raising her children continued to work a full-time job as a waitress. She married the love of her life, Robert Kenneth “Bob” Hill, on July 31, 1958, they celebrated 62 years of marriage before his passing in 2020. Barbara loved her family dearly, and she will be missed greatly.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Lance Hill (Donna) of Archdale, NC, Kenny Hill of Smyrna, TN; daughters, Shari Brown of Smyrna, TN, Tracy Sheats (Mark) of Statham, GA; adopted daughter, Jackie McKeel (Jeff) of Greenville, NC; and ten grandchildren.

The family will have a graveside celebration of Barbara’s life at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Galax, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Humane Society of Kernersville.
