Obituary of Joseph Edward Allen

Surrounded by his family, Joseph “Joe” Edward Allen IV, 73, of Greensboro, NC, passed Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

Joe was born March 13, 1948 in Guilford County, NC to the late Joseph Edward Allen III and Lucy (Cheek) Allen.

Joe married the love of his life, Linda Marie Allen, and adored his wife for 47 wonderful years before her passing in 2015.   They both enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling to Florida on vacation, and taking trips to the Outer Banks.   Joe and Linda loved bringing family together, adored their grandchildren, especially having gatherings at their home.

Joe was a Veteran of the US Navy.   He was an avid car enthusiast.   He enjoyed spending time working on all types of cars.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Todd Allen (Karen), Paul Higgins (Sharon), and Tonya Shaw (Tony); grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan, Sonya, Greg, Shannon, Kenny, and Ashley; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Steve; sisters, Ann and Betsy; many nieces and nephews; numerous friends; and his dog, Sophie.

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 2:00PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral and Cremation Services – Lambeth Chapel, 300 West Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27408.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made in memory of Joseph to AuthoraCare Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.   The family would like to thank Nurse Nancy at AuthoraCare for your loving support.
