Obituary of Margaret Troutman

Margaret Brawley Troutman,90,passed away peacefully at Beacon Place on September 22, 2009. Margaret was born on November 10,1918 in Iredell County and she was the daughter of William S. and Maggie C. Brawley. She resided and worked her entire adult life in her beloved Greensboro. Margaret was a wonderful cook and took great pleasure in cooking for friends and family. Many friends enjoyed her wonderful breads, pies and cakes and will have fond memories of her talents. She also loved her garden and loved to share her flowers and vegetables as well. Margaret is survived by her children Clifton J. Troutman, III of Richmond, Va., Jane T. Porter and husband Russ also of Richmond and Cobie T. Ellington and husband Larry of Mt. Pleasant, NC. Margaret had one grandson, James Patrick Bowles also of Mt. Pleasant, NC whom she cherished and was very proud of. Margaret was preceded in death by brothers Rome and Herman Lackey, sisters Ester L. Caudill, Lois B. Byrd and Grace B. Enos. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to Margaret's neighbors who were always there when she needed them. They want to also thank special neighbors Manny and Carolyn Sarachaga and their children for their devotion, love and support of Margaret. Friends are invited to come by the home on Friday to visit and share special memories of Margaret and celebrate her long and well lived life. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro to honor the special angels that took care of Margaret at home and at Beacon Place. Lambeth Troxler Funeral home is assisting the Troutman family.
