Obituary of Billy Fagg

Billy H. Fagg, a lifelong resident of the Gethsemane community, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry and Nellie Fagg. He was a 1959 graduate of Summerfield High School. He was in the Naval Reserves and was associated with the Revolution Masonic Lodge. Billy was employed by the United States Postal service for 17 years. He also worked for the Greensboro News & Record for a number of years, and most recently retired from the Greensboro Coliseum. He was a practical joker and enjoyed making people laugh. He loved blue grass music, NASCAR and trains, and was an avid reader. Billy is survived by his wife, Carrie, of the home; daughters, Kim Vanada and fiancé, Donnie Hoag, of Summerfield, and Jamee Weatherford and Bill of Harrisburg; step children, Ann Allen and Charles Kent Ireland; granddaughters, Caroline and Elizabeth Weatherford, three step grand- children and four step great- grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, John Fagg (Catherine) and Ken Fagg (Margaret), as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Karol Wolicki and the special caregivers on 2300 and 3300 units of Moses Cone Hospital. The family would also like to acknowledge all the special friends of Billy's, especially William Knight and Roy Edwards. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital would be appreciated.
