Obituary of Sue Powell

Mrs. Sue Brown Powell, 73, of Gibsonville, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at Clapps Nursing Center. A cryptside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, at Lakeview Memorial Park, with the Reverend Mike Wood officiating. Mrs. Powell was born January 19, 1936, in Bedford County, Virginia to Baxter and Pheobe Hundley Brown. She was an avid bingo fan, loved working her puzzle books, cards and most of all, she loved her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Kimbro. Mrs. Powell is survived by her daughter Lori (Donald 'Porky') Curtis; sons, Freddie (Jean Wheeler) Powell and Rick (Diana) Powell; sisters, Jane Burris, Virginia Brown, and Sally (Bill) Cline; brothers, Dick (Gerri) Brown and John Brown; grandchildren, David Clingman, Jennifer Powell, Brooke Curtis, and Kelli Curtis; one great-grandchild, Zachary Clingman.
