Obituary of Grace Story

Mrs. Grace Story, 96, of High Point, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Hospice Home of High Point. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax, with the Reverend Jim Sheets and Reverend David Keith officiating. Burial will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, in Greensboro. Mrs. Story was born May 27, 1912, in Canton, China to Roy T. and Winnie Heflion Cowles. She was the wife of the late Reverend Vernon G. Story. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Story was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Stacia Sheets. Mrs. Story is survived by her daughters, Aletha (Rev. Jim ) Sheets, Becky (Rev. HA) Lewis, Carolyn (Rev. David) Fowler, and Dorothy (Breck) Skinner; sons, Dr. Vernon (Barbara) Story and Dr. Kenneth (Nancy) Story; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.
