Obituary of Mabel Craven

Mrs. Mabel A. Craven, 88, passed away Friday February 2, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 10, at Asbury Methodist Church with Reverend Julie Welborn Peeler officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Mrs. Craven was born January 5, 1921, in Guilford Co., N.C., to the late John and Hester Garner. She was a dedicated Christian and active member of Asbury UMC. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, she will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, L.L. Craven. Survivors include a daughter, Gayle Mathews and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Shawn Lawson, Shane Lawson, Crystal Lawson and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friend two hours prior to the service at Asbury United Methodist Church. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the Craven family
