Obituary of Helen Irene Dillard Powell

Mrs. Helen Dillard Powell, 86, of Kernersville, died Thursday, March 31, 2016. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, April 3rd at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home with the Reverend Don Clement officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mrs. Powell was born December 30, 1929 in Danville, Virginia to Elbert and Nellie Hollyfield Dillard. She was married to the late William H. Archer and the late Thomas Powell. She was a very gifted person, a singer, a song writer, a poet, and a world traveler. She was devoted to her family, a loving mother and grandmother. We love her so. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Dillard; son, William H. Archer Jr. and grandsons, Admiral Archer and Taylor Lemons. She is survived by her brother Jimmy Dillard; son, Larry Archer (Sharon); daughter, Dee Brandin (Lynn); grandchildren, Tony Brandin (Carla), Shannon Dawson (Paul), Melanie Fryou (Glen), Michael Archer, Kim Archer, Daniel Archer, and Brian Lemons; 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
