Obituary of Prudence Calcaterra

Prudence ( Chickie ) Calcaterra, age 77, resident of Stokesdale, NC whose greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday November 18, 2017 after losing her battle of cancer. Prudence was diagnosed with Small Cell Carcinoma in August 2016, at which time she relocated to NC from Staten Island, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents John & Prudence Calcaterra & is survived by her son John Dominick Calcaterra & his wife Denise, 2 grandchildren Marissa & Brianna Calcaterra all residents of Stokesdale, NC. She is also survived by her sister Josephine Morro and her nephews Keith, David & Kevin Morro all residents of Orlando, FL. Prudence worked as a para-professional for the Board of Education, City of New York for 32 years, it was a passion of hers. She will be truly missed by the many lives she has touched. In Lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, 300 Wendover Ave Greensboro, NC has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements for Prudence. Family and friends will be received at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Funeral Services will be held at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm & Entombment will follow at Westminster Gardens 3601 Whitehurst Road Greensboro, NC.
