Obituary of Carmine Joseph Auricchio

Carmine Joseph Auricchio, 95, from Nutley, NJ, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 27, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Carmine moved to Greensboro in 2006 to live with his daughter, Judy Pope Ward. Carmine was born on March 18, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Henry and Rosalie Auricchio. He was a World War II Air Force veteran where he served as an accomplished photographer and followed bombers to take pictures of their objectives. His pictures are currently housed at the Air Force Museum in Savannah, GA. He later worked for Hoffmann La Roche for over 40 years, where he developed the audio visual aide department. He volunteered with local youth programs and headed the local chapter of the Red Cross. Carmine also participated in the Nutley Old Guard activities. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mafalda Naturale Auricchio and four siblings, Susan Talbot, Rosemary Aurichio, Louis Auricchio, and Anthony Aurichio. Survivors include his brother, Henry (Herky) Auricchio and his children, Judy and Doug Ward of Greensboro, Neil and Joann Auricchio of Livingston, NJ and Edward and Cindy Auricchio of Miami, FL and 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held in NJ next month at Holy Cross Cemetery, in North Arlington, NJ. Condolences may be offered at www.lambethtroxlerfuneralhome.com.
