Obituary of Dr. Mark Silvers

Dr.  Mark Silvers, 70, known affectionately as “Gramps”, “Doc” and “Uncle Mark”, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side, Saturday, May 5, 2018.

 

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Mark’s life will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral & Cremation Service.

 

Mark was born on May 16, 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland to Harry Silvers and Marion Solymos  Silvers. A metallurgical engineer who held a degree from North Carolina State University, Mark  returned to the university in 1981 and obtained a doctorate in veterinary medicine. In 1986, Dr. Silvers opened the Archdale Animal Clinic.  He operated that practice until 1992. In 1989, he formed a second practice, the Cat Clinic of Greensboro, retiring in 2008. Mark was pre-deceased by his stepfather, Milton Friedman (“Mickey”) in 2003.
