Obituary of Jerry Johnson

Biography Kernersville-Jerry Mitchell Johnson, 66, went home to be with his Lord February 16, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Sunday February 19, 2012 at Main Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Dr. Jeff Patterson, Rev. Dale Hilton, and Rev. Rick Carter officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. A native of Cumberland County, Jerry was the son of Rosa Fillyaw Johnson and the late Neal Benjamin Johnson. He served his country with the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He was retired from Home Depot. He previously owned, and was a designer, for Kitchens Plus in Los Angeles, California. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and also a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. He truly enjoyed helping others, and he will be missed by his four-legged companions Nathan and Norman. In addition to his father, he also was preceded in death by his brother Billy Rudisill. Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years Edie Hartman Johnson of Kernersville; mother Rosa Johnson of Dartmouth, Massachusetts; sister Marie McCall and W.C. of Fayetteville; brothers Jackie Johnson and Ruby of Rogue River, Oregon, and Kenneth Johnson of Dartmouth, Massachusetts; sister-in-law Becky Rudisill of Anchorage, Alaska; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service on Sunday at the church.
