Obituary of Wacon Cottingham

Kernersville-Wacon Daniel Cottingham, III, 49, died unexpectedly at his home in Delphos, Ohio on December 24, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 3:00 PM Saturday December 31, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. A Service of Remembrance in his honor will be held at a later date in Delphos, Ohio. He was a native of Florida, but lived most of his life in Kernersville. He was the son of Margaret Jean Oswald Cottingham and Wacon Daniel Cottingham, Jr. both who survive. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. He had worked for a number of years in several states. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, collecting antiques, and recently restoring go-karts had occupied his time. He was preceded in death by a niece Amanda Dawn Marion, paternal grandparents Ethel and Pierce Hyman, and maternal grandfather Franklin Oswald. Survivors include his son Clifton "Cliff" Daniel Cottingham and Brandi of Kernersville; mother and father Daniel and Margaret Cottingham of Kernersville; his longtime love of his life Connie Wilt of Delphos, OH; sisters Suzanne Stomean and Lonnie of Kernersville, and Jennifer Ayers and Tony of Winston-Salem; granddaughter McKenzie Cottingham; niece Jordan Stomean; grandmother Dorothy Oswald of West Palm Beach, FL, and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 1:30PM until time for the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
