Obituary of Annette Salvitti

Biography Annette Frances (Clinton) Salvitti, 91, of Wilmington NC and formerly of Winston-Salem and New Fairfield, CT, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011, with family at her side. Born in the Bronx, New York on March 21, 1920, Annette and her husband shared many joint interests, especially raising 5 children, various church ministries, Knights of Columbus events, gardening/landscaping, traveling and camping in their Volkswagen van, and square dancing with the Danbury Mad Hatters Club. During the past 7 years, Annette was also an active member and Queen Bee of the Red Hat Society Chapter at Champions Assisted Living in Wilmington. Knitting was a life-long love, for which she instructed, knitted, and owned a Knitting shop for many years. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years, Arthur D. Salvitti in 2003, and infant son, Phillip, in 1945. She is survived by 5 children: Terri Lerose of Wilmington, Arthur M. Salvitti of Batesville, IN, Stephen J. Salvitti of Kernersville NC, Peter J, Salvitti of Washington Courthouse, OH, and John R. Salvitti of Greensboro, NC, as well as 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren , 2 great- great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville NC 27284. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 15th at 11:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kernersville, NC, followed by inurnment at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, High Point, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Annette's honor to the Cornelia Nixon Davis - Legacy Fund, Davis Health Care/Champions Assisted Living, 1011 Porters Neck Road, Wilmington, NC 28411.
