Obituary of Stephen Shenberger

Kernersville- Stephen Leslie Shenberger, 60, died Thursday October 27, 2011. A Celebration of Steve's life and spirit will be held Sunday November 20, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in Greensboro with Pastor Jay Hilbinger officiating. A time of remembrance, through music, begins at 3:40pm with friends sharing aviation "stories" at 4:00pm. A gathering for family and friends will be held immediately following the service in the church parlor. Steve's childhood years were spent in Ashland, Ohio until he left for one year of college at Ohio State University. After much discussion with his parents, Steve decided to pursue the field of Aviation and receive his A&P certification from Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. During his 40+ years career, Steve shared his love of aviation with many at Airborne Express (Wilmington, Ohio) and most recently with his friends at TIMCO Aviation Services of Greensboro. Steve was preceded in death by his father Richard Shenberger. Survivors include his wife Denise Shenberger of the home; mother Glorene Shenberger of Columbus, OH; sister Diane; brother Dave and wife, Charon; three step-children Laurel and husband Scott, Cheryl and husband Pat, and Robb; three grand-children Megan, Stephen, Declan and Declan's mother Jennifer; one great grandchild Jacob. The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge Dr. Peter Ennever, Nancy and the entire medical staff for their care and compassion given during Steve's journey. Service Information
