Obituary of Elizabeth Bovender

Kernersville-Elizabeth Lee Stanley Bovender, 78, went home to be with her Lord September 21, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Saturday September 24, 2011 at Green Street United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem with Pastor Kelly Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Era Dixon Stanley and Luther Lee Stanley. She graduated from the former Gray High School in Winston-Salem. She worked as a LPN, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Winston-Salem State University. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husband William Charles Bovender and her daughter Sandra Leigh Bovender. Survivors include her daughter Vickie Bovender Gall and David of Winston-Salem; son David C. Bovender and Pat of Walnut Cove; grandchildren Kristen Elizabeth Arnold and David, Christopher Jenkins, Elissa Gayle Drumm, Rebecca Jane Gall, Jonathan Jenkins, and Brandon Bovender; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn Stultz, Hannah Arnold, Ian Arnold, and one expected arrival in February; sister Ruth Stanley Poindexter of Winston-Salem. The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Friday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
