Obituary of Robert Hepler

Biography Kernersville-Robert Vance Hepler, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully, with his son by his side, on September 5, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Thursday September 8, 2011 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Guilford County, Mr. Hepler was the son of the late Evelyn Joyce Whitt and Robert Vance Hepler, Sr. He graduated from Kernersville High School Class of 1939. He then served his country during WWII in the US Army with the 3261st Ordinance Base Depot. After being with his division during the Invasion of Normandy, he later was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was retired from the Norfolk Southern Railway after 42 years of service. Survivors include his wife Inez Marie Fulp Hepler; son Mark Hepler of Thornton, Colorado; step-Mother Blanche S. Hepler of Reidsville; and several cousins, extended family, and friends. The family will visit with friends just prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
