Obituary of Roy Pegram

Biography Kernersville-Roy Freeman Pegram, 74, went home to be with his Lord July 9, 2011 following a lengthy illness. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Monday July 11, 2011 at Colfax Baptist Church with Rev. Judd Dickson and Rev. Beauford Smith officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Emma Mae Freeman and Frank Hurd Pegram. He had worked for a number of years as a metal processor. He was a member of Colfax Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Roy also was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ethleen Hanes and his brother Russell Davis Pegram. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Linda Sue Slaydon Pegram of the home; daughter Janet Sue Michot of Kernersville; grandchildren Kimberly Dawn Cox and her husband Josh, and Ashley Nacole Merritt all of Kernersville; sisters Jeanette King and Shirley Mae Hardy and her husband Al Dean of Kernersville; brothers Ralph Pegram of Bethany, Sid Pegram and wife Brenda, Roger Pegram and wife Marie, and Harry Pegram all of Kernersville. The family will visit with friends from 4-6pm Sunday afternoon at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
