Obituary of Dianne Williams

Biography The light of the world got a little dimmer on April 19, 2011, but Heaven must be much brighter. Kernersville-Dianne Parrish Williams, 59, went home to be with her Lord April 19, 2011. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 5:00PM Thursday April 21, 2011 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hewey Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, Dianne was the daughter of the late Roger Boyd Parrish and Peggy Simmons Parrish who survives. She was a member of the Class of 1970 East Forsyth High School, and Western Carolina Class of 1974. She was a member of Kernersville Friends Meeting growing up and later attended Unity Church in Winston-Salem. She was a teacher at Union Cross Elementary School where she was honored as "Teacher of the Year" in 2003. Dianne loved her students and was there for them until her illness did not allow her to teach any further. She taught a total of 34 years with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. Survivors include her mother Peggy Simmons Parrish of Kernersville; sister Debbie Parrish Lane and Bob Sieg of King; step-son Eric Williams and Cindy of Kernersville; grandchildren Kayla and Haleigh Williams of Kernersville; nephews Chad Lane, Bryce Lane and Wendy, and Casey Lane; great-nephew Kemper Lane; aunt and uncle Joetta and Hewey Parrish of Kernersville; and numerous cousins, friends, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
