Obituary of Betty McBride Young

Biography Kernersville - Mrs. Betty Lorene McBride Young, 69 of Warren Rd. went home to be with her Lord Thusrday, March 3, 2011. Betty was born December 27, 1941 in Surry County a daughter of Ulus McBride and Lucy Elizabeth Hensley McBride. Betty and her husband Ken were owners of Young's Florist and she was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. She was married February 6, 1960 to Kenneth Ray Young. Surviving are her husband, Ken Young of the home; her best friend, Inez Saferight; two sisters, Ehtel Moore and Inez Tilley of Midway; sister-in-law, Linda Crews and husband, Kenny; two brother-in-laws, Gerry Young and Ronnie Young and wife Sue; nieces and nephews, Sandra Gail Chamilin and husband Charles, Debbie Brooth and husband David, Mike Tilley and Rickey Tilley and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Betty will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 7, 2011 at Union Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Dean, Rev. Neil Eller, Rev. Dick Pridgen and Rev. Dr. Brooks Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Betty will remain at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home until placed in the church thirty minutes before the service. The family will be at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Sunday March 6, 2011 from 6 until 8 p.m. and others times at the home. J.C.
