Obituary of Grover Hedgecock

Kernersville - Grover W. "Hedgie" Hedgecock, 97, went home to be with his Lord January 29, 2011. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Friday February 4, 2011 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Patricia Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Lucy Manuel and V.R. Hedgecock. He served his country during WWII in the US Army. He was the oldest member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church and a member of the Baracca Sunday School Class. He graduated from NC State University with a chemical engineering degree. He was superintendant of Hanes Dye & Finishing Company. In addition to his parents, "Hedgie" also was preceded in death by his first wife Elaine Reich Hedgecock, and his second wife Esther Vernon Dorsett Hedgecock. Survivors include his nephews William "Bill" Hedgecock and wife Pauline of Kernersville, Victor Edward Hedgecock and wife Donna of San Diego, CA, Henry Hoyt Hedgecock and wife Gail and Grover Lee Hedgecock and wife Patricia all of Camden, NY; niece Mary Allen Bones of Camden, NY; and numerous great nieces and nephews and extended family.
