Obituary of Darrell Travis Morgan

Darrell Travis Morgan, 66, born March 31, 1958, in Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away at his home on April 3, 2024. While Darrell left us far too soon, the impact he had on our family will be felt and remembered for years to come.

Darrell will be forever remembered by: his son Justin Morgan and Justin’s wife, Katie Morgan; his grandsons Travis Morgan and Dexter Morgan; his mother, Helen Fields Morgan; his brothers Dennis, David, and Roger (Angie); nieces and nephews Brad, Heather, Ashley, Storm, Summer (Alex), Sienna, and Serenity; great niece Autumn; and the brother of Justin, Caleb Lyon, who was like a son to Darrell.

He was preceded in death by his father, John “Buddy” Kermit Morgan, Jr and a very special aunt, Lucy Fields.

Darrell received his high school diploma from Page High School, class of 1976. Following graduation, Darrell worked as a pipe-fitter for the majority of his adult life.

Darrell, fondly known as "Pappy," loved his grandsons Travis and Dexter fiercely. You could find him most Saturday nights playing with cars, in a Nerf gun war, or playing Mario Kart with Travis and Dexter. His grandsons loved spending time with their Pappy and will truly miss him.

A celebration of life service will be held at Unity Christian Church (formerly Greensboro Christian Church), 3232 Yanceyville St, Greensboro, NC 27405, on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 4:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Darrell’s memory to the Guilford County Animal Shelter.
