Obituary of Mrs. Marjorie Faye Ruff Bridges

Mrs. Marjorie Faye Ruff Bridges, 89, of Kernersville, NC, passed away peacefully and into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

A native of Rutherford County, NC, Faye was the wife of Robert Owen Bridges, Sr. for 68 years, and the daughter of James Ellis Ruff and Dulcie Cunningham Ruff who are both deceased. Raised in a loving Christian home, Faye and her siblings were cherished by their beloved parents and being a twin to her dear sister Kaye was something that she considered a unique treasure. Faye never met a stranger and was able to strike up a conversation with many a weary soul and always with a listening ear, a hopeful word and a beautiful smile. Her sense of humor was irresistible and brought joy to those around her. Faye was generous and had mercy for those in need and gave with great joy. She genuinely valued her loved ones with a full heart.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; daughter, Pamela Chambers and her husband, Stan; two sons, Robert Owen “Bobby” Bridges, Jr. and his wife, Ruthanna, and James Tyler Bridges and his wife, Teresa; four grandchildren, Hannah Bridges Koontz and her husband, Joe, Bradley Owen Chambers and his fiancé, Jolie, Joanna Chambers Knowles and her husband, Zack, and Robert Ellis “Robby” Bridges; two great grandchildren, Camden Koontz and Karis Koontz; and one sister, Linda Dowell and her husband, Skip.

In addition to her parents, Ellis and Dot Ruff, Faye was preceded in death by two sisters, her sister Bobbie Murray, her twin sister Kaye Gold; and her brother, Bill Ruff.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, 2676 Hudlow Road, Forest City, NC 28043, with Dr. Keith Stephenson officiating.
