Obituary of Larry Houston Rankin

Summerfield, NC - Larry Houston Rankin, age 84, entered his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 24th, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born June 15, 1933 to the late Wilbur Houston Rankin and Bernice Cox Rankin. He is survived by his wife, Carole Smith Rankin, daughters Laura V. Rankin, Leslie Rankin Adams (husband Tom Hiatt); brother Joe Rankin, sister Mary Frances Chaffer, and step grandson Justin Adams. He was a faithful member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church and served his country as a member of the US Army. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro at 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405 or Oak Ridge United Methodist Church at 2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310. Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, Sunday, October 29 at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church on Highway 150 in Oak Ridge, NC. Visitation will follow the service.
