Ethelene Lumley Payne

Ethelene Loretta Lumley Payne, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 20, 2018 at Beacon Place Hospice Home in Greensboro.

Graveside funeral services celebrating her life will be 2:00PM Friday, November 23, 2018 at Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro.

Ethelene was the daughter of the late Walter Bynum Lumley and Lettie Scott Lumley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her half-sister, Ruth Lumley Pruitt; half-brothers, Garland D. Lumley and Junius L. Lumley.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 67 years, Bobby W. Payne; daughter, Sandra; son, David Payne and wife Terri; granddaughter, Kristin Pennington and husband DJ; grandson, Drew Payne and wife Leann; and precious great-grandchildren, Emma Payne, Abigail Payne, and Greyson Pennington.

She lovingly worked as a homemaker for her family and enjoyed playing piano, crochet, knitting and quilting. Ethelene was also known for crafting handmade bears and jewelry as gifts for friends and family.

Ethelene was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church. She was a cancer survivor and succumbed to   Alzheimers disease.

Family and friends wishing to pay their respects may come by the Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home, 300 West Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC on Friday, November 23, 2018 between 11:00AM and 1:00PM.
