Obituary of Betty Sue Michael

Betty Sue Michael, 70, went home to be with Jesus on January 29, 2019.  A Memorial Service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00PM

Sue was born April 4, 1948 in Guilford County to the late Dorothy Lamb Hipp and James Hipp.  In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Wade H. Michael.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Julie K. Boyette, Rhonda L. King; sons, William “Jeff” King and wife Delois, Christopher B. Michael, Billy W. Michael and brother, Terry Johnson.  She was also blessed with ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Sue was one of the oldest living members of Bethel Baptist Church, having been a member for over fifty years.  She served the church in many capacities, including Sunday School Teacher. She attended Northeast High School in McLeansville.  She enjoyed a long career as a Beautician. Her interests included sewing, collecting dolls and brooches and decorating extensively for the Christmas holidays. Sue was the type of person that would comfort family and friends in their times of need.  She loved and supported her children unconditionally and showed the true definition of a mother’s love.
