Obituary of Ruby Vawter Linville

Ruby Vawter Linville, 91, went to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 27, 2019.  Funeral Services celebrating her life will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday March 31, 2019 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Chapel.  Burial will follow at Saint’s Delight Church Cemetery in Kernersville, NC.

Ruby was born on October 8, 1927 to the late Thomas Franklin Vawter and Mary Beamon Vawter.  Ruby worked for 32 years at Winston Steam Laundry and Linen on Ivy Avenue. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; two husbands, David Martin Childress and Phillip Gray Linville; a son, David A. Childress; a daughter, Mary C. Tilley; a granddaughter, Amber Linville; a great grandson, Tyler Tilley, four sisters, and a brother.

Survivors include; daughters, Patricia Ann Childress and Debbie Childress Waddell and Jimmy; sons, Tommy Childress, Doug Childress, and Gray Linville; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, two brothers, three sisters, and many extended family and friends.

The family will visit with friends from 5-7 PM Saturday at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service Chapel.
