Obituary of Neomia Ruth Gordon

Neomia Ruth Gordon, 87, passed away peacefully Thursday April 11, 2019.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00PM Sunday April 14, 2019 at Shining Light Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC with Dr. Thomas Satterfield officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Stokes County, NC, Neomia was the wife of the late Paul V. Gordon and the daughter of the late Charlie W. Gordy and Etta Gordy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother who loved sewing, crocheting, gardening. She loved spending time with her husband and family.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Freeman, and Mary McCormick and husband, Michael; sons, Herman V. Gordon, William R. Gordon and wife, Barbara, Clay Gordon and wife, Sherrin; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Gordon.

In addition to her husband and parents, Neomia was preceded in death by two sisters; two brothers; son-in-law, Curtis Freeman; granddaughter, Angie Freeman Absher; and grandson, Kevin McCormick.

The family will visit with friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Saturday April 13, 2019 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
