Obituary of Leo John Konkel, Sr.

Leo John Konkel, Sr., 82, of Kernersville passed away peacefully Tuesday July 2, 2019.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00PM Friday July 5, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Noah Carter officiating.

A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30AM Saturday July 13, 2019 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike & Pomona Road, Cinnaminson, NJ 08077.

A native of Philadelphia, PA, Leo was the husband of the late Joan Elizabeth Finn Konkel and the son of the late, Paul Konkel and Anna McCreary Konkel. He was a veteran of the US Army. Leo was a member of the Knights of Columbus served in the capacity of Grand Knight for Council 1436 in Delran, NJ. 

Survivors include his daughters, Loretta Slozer and husband, Matthew of Kernersville, NC, and Susan Howard and husband, Carl of Delran, NJ; son, Leo John Konkel, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Delanco, NJ; and grandchildren, Carl, Zachary, and Rebecca Howard, Leo, Andrew, Ashley, and Kathryn Konkel, McKenna, Marissa, Joshua, Jarred, and Shalynn Slozer.

In addition to his wife and parents, Leo was preceded in death by his sister, Joananne Konkel; and brother, Paul Konkel; and his beloved pet, Kelly.
