Beatrice Ennemoser

Obituary of Beatrice Ennemoser

Beatrice Leigh Baker Ennemoser, 94, went to her eternal home on Good Friday, April 10, 2020.  She was born in Cheraw, SC, as one of five children, to the late Roy Coterell Baker and Cora Estelle Tolbert Baker.

She also joins her husband William Ennemoser, daughter Gail Partin, daughter Jackie Smith, son Joseph Smith and granddaughter Shannan Wiggins in heaven for the most joyful of reunions.

Those left to miss and treasure memories of Bea include her daughter Phillis Soward of Raleigh; daughter-in-law Kathy Smith; grandchildren Tammy Wendling, Heather Robbins, Jana Kellam, Preston Soward, Mandy Coggins, Shannon Manley and AJ Smith; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; sisters Mickey Woodard and Harriett Elmore; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Bea spent most of her life in the NC cities of Cary, Greensboro and Raleigh. She worked as a bookkeeper who enjoyed word searches, crossword puzzles and game shows to busy her mind. She passed down her wonderful cooking talent to two of her daughters and never stopped encouraging the third. Known for her banana pudding she likely made hundreds while entertaining for celebrations and gatherings with family and friends. Although she could make the best desserts from scratch one of her favorite guilty pleasures was eating store-bought Neapolitan ice cream in a cone with her husband each night. Even in her twilight years she was never known to turn down a sweet treat!

Bea did not relish the limelight in any way and was happy to let others shine as she enjoyed watching. She was so proud of the talents and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren alike. She passed down her love of music to all of her children, as well as, their children who all were musicians of some sort including singers, guitarists, drummers, pianists, and drum majors. She especially loved listening to the harmonies they all produced together.

Although Bea survived a stroke in her golden years she did not make a full recovery and spent her remaining years being a ray of sunshine and sweetness for many of her kind caregivers.  They fondly referred to her as “Coco” and she would gaze into their eyes as if to say “thank you and I love you” which simply exuded through her sweet spirit.  And now that sweet spirit lives on forever.

Bea’s family will come together as soon as possible for a celebration of her long life.  Information will be forthcoming as to a date and time.
