Obituary of Leon Locksley Miller
Leon Locksley Miller, 89, died peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021. He was born August 24, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Joseph Columbus Miller and Edith Azmon Miller. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by sisters, Frances Allen, Hattie Plott, Marcela Boyer, and Carolyn Rice; and brothers, Joseph, Albert, Glenn and Burley Miller. Leon was a farmer and served in the US Army in Germany. He was then employed by R.J. Reynolds for 30 years before retirement. Leon enjoyed the outdoors, growing gardens, and collie dogs. He was preceded in death by one very special dog named Jasper who was good company to him for 12 years. Leon is survived by two sons, Bradley Miller (wife Meredith) and Steven Miller; two granddaughters, Hailey Miller and Amberlynn Miller, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Leon shared these words of wisdom with us all - "It costs nothing to be nice to people."
