Wanda Macy

Obituary of Wanda May Walton Macy

Wanda May Walton Macy, 61, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully into the loving hands of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family on Friday, May 21, 2021.

A native of Caldwell, West Virginia, Wanda was the daughter of the late George Alva Walton, Sr and Emzie Scott Walton. Wanda moved to North Carolina in the late 70’s where she met and later married Randall “Randy” Keith Macy, Sr. Wanda was of Baptist faith and had great love and faith in her Lord and Savior, trusting Him and knowing He would prevail and always provide. Wanda had a heart of gold; she enjoyed making friends whom she would often refer to as her family. Wanda was caring, often thinking of others first. She had a wealth of knowledge, and she was more often than not, always right. She laughed often and freely, sometimes to the point of tears. She enjoyed cookouts and get togethers. She was an excellent cook and baker; always finding new recipes to try. Wanda had a love for frogs, the color green, but nothing compared to the love she held for her grandchildren, whom she always referred to as “Nanny’s babies.”

Wanda is survived by her husband of 35 years, Randy; son, Randall “Keith” Macy, Jr. and wife, Ana Suheiry Macy of Kernersville, NC; daughter, Shannon Michelle Macy of the home; grandchildren, Tiffany, Kaitlyn, Britany, Zachary, Damon, Naomi, Aaliyah, MyKayla, and Sophia; sisters, Kathy Simms and husband, David of Hines, WV, and Mary Jane Harvey of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Hailey Mae Robbins; sisters, Della Ruth Cayton, Mamie Ann Defibaugh; and brother, Joe Walton.
