Obituary of Bobby Winford Payne

Bobby Winford Payne, 93, of McLeansville, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 4^th, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Bobby was the son of the late George Norman Payne and Ruth Pritchett Payne. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Ethelene Lumley Payne; brother, Thomas Wade Payne; and step-mother, Annie Mae Payne.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Sandra; son, David Payne and wife Terri; granddaughter, Kristin Pennington and husband DJ; grandson, Drew Payne and wife Leann; and precious great-grandchildren, Emma Payne, Abigail Payne, Greyson Pennington, Meghan Pennington, and Elijah Pennington. Bobby is also survived by his sisters, Lavada Haynes, and Eunice Johnson and husband Daniel; brother, Donald Payne and wife Brenda.

Bobby was a loving and generous father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who was always there for wise advice. After retiring from AT&T Technologies as an accountant, he enjoyed spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains with Ethelene. He was also a member of Lawndale Baptist Church.

His family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Lambeth Chapel, 300 W Wendover Avenue, Greensboro, NC on April 10, 2023 from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. A graveside service celebrating his life will follow immediately at Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro.
