Obituary of Angela L. Kenan

Angela Foxx Kenan, known to those close to her as "Angie" was born on Dec. 29th, 1963 to Bobby Foxx and Delores Wade (Foxx). To her children she was "ma", and to her granddaughters "Gam Gam." Although, born in Greensboro, North Carolina,

Angela was raised in New Jersey alongside six sisters.

Angela is known for being mild, soft spoken, genuine, and caring (Matt 11:29). She was endearing with an open heart that caused people to gravitate towards her. These qualities would be the very things that drew herto Jehovah and helped in her ministry.

One day, Angela's daughter asked, what is the one thing you haven't done, that you would like to do?" Travel she said! From that moment, she and her daughter started what they called "Annual Mother Daughter trips," just the two of them.Angela loved to travel! Traveling is where her personality shined and came to life.

One trip proved to be significant. It was in Puerto Vallarta,Mexico. Angela and her daughter approached an Employee at the front desk of their hotel, and requested a taxi to the Botanical Gardens. The Employee stated he was happy to, but wanted to let them know it would be a 45 minute drive way up the mountains and getting a taxi back would be difficult. The Employee then stated, "My father-in-law can take you for a flat fee and give you the best tour." Angela and her daughter stepped away; discussed the dangers, said a quick prayer to Jehovah, and decided to take the Employee up on his offer.

Midway through the tour, whisperingt o each other the two discussed asking the father-in-law if he could take them to see the local Kingdom Hall. Not sure, how he would respond, again, they said a quick prayer. "Do you know where the local kingdom hall is? Can you take us there" they asked. "Of course!" The father-in-law responded. My family and I are Jehovah's Witneses, including my son-in-law at the resort." They couldn't believe it. They were amongst spiritual family the whole time. This is where the tradition of taking pictures of local kingdom halls, in whatever city, state or country they visited started. They would recall this trip many times over the years.

Angela's first trip to Europe was filled with so many gems. While visiting Italy she enjoyed touring the Roman colosseum, the Roman Forum and many other places. Angela would stay up all night with her daughter recalling Bible accounts that took place at the different locations they visited. Even amongst all the beauty this trip wasn't without challenges. While visiting Trevi Fountain her daughter discovered she was pick pocketed; her wallet had been taken. While going back to re-trace her steps, her daughter came back to the group to find her mother and a friend crying. Her daughter couldn't do anything but laugh. "Why are you all crying, you didn't get pick pocketed." Everyone bursts into laughter. That was Angela. She wept with those who wept and willingly carried the burden of others as if it were her own.

Whether participating in the search work for Italian speaking individuals in Pittsburgh, PA; preaching in English in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, or visiting kingdom halls where ever she traveled, Angela was just beginning to bloom in her ministry. She recently became a regular continuous auxiliary pioneer. Angela was courageous and her "send me" attitude speaks volumes to just how much she relied on Jehovah.

Angela was proceeded in death by her father, Bobby Foxx, and two sisters, Tonya Foxx Williams and Bobbie "Sister" Chapman.
